Course materials will be purchased through the web store and delivered to students at their address of choice or to campus where they can be picked up. Reminder: Even if you do not have any materials to adopt, please go into the adoptions portal, choose your course(s), and select the option titled “there are no materials for this course.” This message will be shown on the online bookstore for students as they’re planning for and purchasing their books.

To select your own course materials or select material from multiple sources for your courses, please fill out the this form and send it to [email protected]. The earlier the better because most items must go through copyright clearance, and that can take 8 to 12 weeks. As an alternative, the library can work with you to create a no-cost course pack for students using a Resource List in your Canvas course. Meet with a library Course Materials Specialist to find out more.

Cengage Unlimited is a tool that reduces textbook costs for students who will be using Cengage materials across multiple courses. A Cengage Unlimited subscription provides access to all Cengage titles for a specified period of time. It is important to understand that Cengage Unlimited does not work for classes that are in the Inclusive Access program. Professors who request Cengage Unlimited also need to alert their students to the access that Cengage Unlimited requires, so students don’t purchase individual Cengage titles on their own. When a student purchases Cengage Unlimited, they log into the Cengage platform and access the textbooks they need via Cengage.

If you would like to request Inclusive Access materials for your course (materials integrated directly into Canvas), you will need to indicate this when you submit your adoption. Please enter this into the comment box of your adoption(s): “Please adopt this as INCLUSIVE ACCESS.”

Once your Inclusive Access materials are adopted, you will need to enable the Canvas page to allow access to the materials. Please follow these instructions:

If you need to adopt course materials after the adoptions deadline has passed, please contact your department/program coordinator (if your coordinator is assisting with adoptions) or send an email to [email protected] with all of the relevant information.(course and section number, ISBN, edition) Please keep in mind that some forms of course materials might not be available for the start of the semester based on due dates.
